It's only noon, and this has already been the most surreal day that I can remember for quite some time.
It started with making some coffee with the Lab Coffee Machine that turned out to be seriously ass. I drank it nonetheless, because I need the caffeine, right? Bad idea. Wuh-HAY too much caffeine in there (that coffee was seriously dank, yo), so I'm vibrating like a bell, my head feels like it's somewhere in orbit with a high-power telescope aimed at the surface, and I just generally feel out of sorts. So then I head to my TA meeting, and find that I am going to be dissecting a cow eye so that I can be of help to the students who will be doing it next week. Surprise! Handling an Extremely Sharp Instrument and cutting the slippery, fluid-filled tough squish that is the vertebrate eye while shaking and practically cross-eyed from caffeine O.D., well, that's got to be probably the highlight of my week. I'm not exactly upset, I'm just highly discombobulated and unprepared for what today is throwing at me. Today gets The Big WTF for the year so far. We'll see if anything tops this.
