Since a few of you called me vague in regards to my last post I suppose I can be more specific. Making a new post makes more sense to me then to respond to the comments though so here I go!
The Achilles Tendon:
I'm not exactly what action of mine caused it, but I think I definately did some damage. A bit over two weeks ago I went hiking. We did 16+ miles in two days about half of which was walking in a dried up river bed(the Nooksack up by Baker specifically) then that week starting tuesday I ran 4,9,1,4,12 miles. That comes out to 30 miles, somewhere in that I pulled/tore/otherwise caused pain to my left achilles tendon. For a few days every time I flexed my ankle I could feel the tendon moving across the back of my ankle. Which, is what it is supposed to do, but you don't normally feel it. It was also swollen about twice the size of my other ankle. So, I took a week off and ran a mile about a week ago. And...same thing happened. It doesn't hurt to walk, which is good I suppose.
Its a pain, a mile to me barely conistitutes a warm up...Anyway, thats the current state of things. Apparently this can take several months to heal even if it is minor, if it were major surgery would be required. I would also be currently unable to walk, so I can rule out that. Plus..the marathon is in three weeks, but at this point I've pretty much decided running it is a really really bad idea. If you want to take my place, let me know!
If you go on Facebook and look at the pictures of me you can see some from the hiking trip. Or if you are friends with Sean Parent go look at his most recent photo album on there. I show up in many of his albums, he is the photographer of the group.

The Job:
I got a job doing software testing type stuff at Microsoft. It is located in Redmond which is essentially Seattle. You can drive from Redmond to Seattle and have no idea where one starts and the other ends. Technically it is a bit North and East of Seattle. I have an apartment with Tim Hannifin, who lived with Alex last year, most of you have met him.

So, thats whats up these days. Oh, yes I'm at work, and yes...I should probably get back to it :) So I will!

tendon, work, stuff
