Jobs.. the magical fruit..
A couple weeks ago I posted about the 'Parking Control Officer' position that the City of Olympia had open. SO I get to the mail today, and I have a letter for them that I have a schedualed test time (March 11 at 510pm) for the testing part of the application. Kind of creeped me out that they would set me up for the second round of applications, seeing as I am barely going to be out of high school if (doubtfully) they hire me and it's a fairly high paying job for an 18 year old.
In other news, so there has been this pipe dream of mine to invest in real estate. AKA, buy up crappy houses and fix them up and then resell them. Well, one of my dad's good friends loans large amounts of money to people but originally he started off by buying houses, fixing them up and renting them out. By the time he was 25 he was a millionaire and the moral of the story is my dad thinks he will let me "shadow" him and get the ins and outs of landlording and even help me "get on my feet". Umm.. yeah, that kind of rocks, and yesterday my dad talked to him and he is hella excited about someone having an interest in what he does (he has no kids, so no son .. or daughter.. to pass on the torch too)
Really I need to focus on homework to graduate, because I am in the "plus" for credits (right now I have like 24.22 or something, and you only need 21 to graduate) but I have one class that is a requirement that I just totally can't finish (blah.. US History). That's pissing me off, but I will get it done and hopefully by the summer time I will have started shadowing and maybe even have bought a house to rent out. God, I could totally play the asshole landlord well... or the anal parking control officer.. whichever happens..
