It's that time of year...or at least this morning it is

Oh how I love it!!!!! The sun is here and it is warm and it is not totally dark until like 9pm. You don't realize how depressing the winter months are until it is suddenly light and warm! But it was like this a couple weeks ago, then it got cold again, but at least today it looks nice. Because of this lately I have been having intense sense-related flashbacks to my childhood. The other day I was overcome with this sensation. I smelled it and instantly I was transported back to a thundershowering day in Montana or a rest area in Eastern Washington. It had been raining just a little, but was mostly sunny and nice. I looked around and it seemed that there was sagebrush (or something that looked like it) newly planted on the campus. That must have been it. It was very intense and reminded me SO MUCH of home...you know that fresh wonderful sagebrushy smell.

Then today I woke up to the sun beating in through my window. It was hot in my room and felt like midday, though it was only about 9:30. I opened the window and took in the cool morning breeze. It is that kind of early summer day where it is still cool, even cold in the morning, but looks to quickly heat up and provide a beautiful fun-filled afternoon. It felt like I should be packing for a road trip, or putting on my hiking boots, or grabbing my fishing rod, or going on a ferry ride to Whidbey Island. There is something about those days... An indescribable feeling of happiness, excitement and comfort.

But sadly, none of that will happen, and in fact I am pretty sure this will be an extremely boring day. I am not going anywhere; it's 11:42 and I am in the library writing in my livejournal. Then I'll do a little work, read some, head into town and grab a galette-saucisse for lunch. Then I'll read more, run or attempt some form of excercise, call my family, eat dinner, read, play computer game, read, and go to sleep. Sigh. Boring typical day. Maybe I'll find someone to do something with.

And for those of you wondering about the strike, no it is not over, but I'll find out on Monday whether we will continue blocking class. However, I can get my scholarships back next year, so I wanna cancel this and get outta here! Travel, be done with this BS, and continue with my life.
