So this Mama did not quite deliver, despite name of Guilermo del Toro in its credits. The trailer was three times spooker than the movie itself: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2023587/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1Read more... )
Well, while season 1 was about the House, even though season 2 is set in an asylum the main focus is the characters. There are different things going on each week, but each character also has their main plot line that gets focused on. So it's not all hey, you're in a haunted house, booo I'm a ghost. While I liked it enough to stick around, I did think season 1 was a bit dull. But there's a lot going on in season 2, where even if you don't like character(s) or plot(s), I think they're something you could look past and still have a lot left over. There was a storyline for one of the characters I felt didn't actually fit in with the Asylum theme and would have been best if they'd saved it for another season, and while it did carry on throughout the season and into the finale, I watched the scenes but there were plenty of other characters and their tales that I liked better and it wasn't so bad that I turned the channel and quit the show.
It does all boil down to the experiences these people had leading up to, during, and after their stay at the asylum, but it's not the ASYLUM that's the story. If that makes sense? Last year the house was the main character, and we got the house's story, this year the main characters are the people.
Okay, it sounds complicated enough and probably worth to check out when I am bored our of weekly fodder as Person Of Interest, The Following et cetera. Thank you!
