oslo is great. my friend and her family are even greater for letting me set up camp at their house and for feeding me. ohhhh mom-cooked meals. heaven. the flight was okay and i made another canadian flight-cabin friend and we talked the whole way, so it went fast. julie is doing so much for me right now.
the first night was exhausting but kind of fun. julie was djing and basically i had been up since 5am and went until 4am the next day. but i made some friends. not understanding a thing being said around me was freaky but it's getting normal now. i'm pretty terrible at picking up norwegian but people speak like perfect english anyway.
i love the city, it's very cute and modern and expensive (doesn't help you save money when you have no idea what you're spending either). good food and lifestyle, super safe minus the occasional screaming junkie. but i am not too bothered by that. less fast-paced, less packed, less tiring than london, better air. i am having a fabulous time. i went to a vintage store yesterday and spent a shitload. but the place was blowing my mind with its racks and racks of authentic 60s wear. i could almost hear the sitars playing. then i got to see thank you for smoking for free, thanks to another friend. i liked it.
flickr picturestwo more days of oslo fun and i'll be in istanbul.
so excited.
