My License Plate
Hi all! I'm getting stressed out about my big trip tomorrow. Not stressed about going, of course, cause I can't wait to see my buddy buds and junior buddy buds, but stressed out about packing. I'm always afraid I'll forget something crucial. Most things you can just replace, so I know I'm worrying for no reason, but that's just how I feel before I go away somewhere. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for almost 2 whole weeks. I'm not sure how many posts I'll put on here during the trip, but I'm sure my buds will let me use their computers to post, so I may have more than I thought.
Well, now on to the subject above. Something very amusing happened yesterday. I was driving home from my aunt and uncle's beach club and I was stopped at a red light. There was an SUV behind me filled with 3 or 4 young men, and suddenly one of them got out of the vehicle. I saw him in my rearview mirror, and he came up to the back of my Ford Escape and pointed his cell phone at it. At first I couldn't figure out what the heck he was doing, but then it occurred to me. He was taking a photo of my license plate!!! He had one of those newfangled, cool camera-phones and he was actually taking a picture of my license plate! You all might not know this, but I have a personalized plate. It says MEL FAN, referring to Mel Gibson of course! I also have a license plate holder around my rear plate that says, "I'd rather be watching Mel Gibson movies," just in case people were confused about which Mel my plate was talking about . So, for some unknown reason, these guys wanted a photo of my license plate. They were laughing and having a good time while doing it.
I assume that either they were Mel Gibson fans or their girlfriends were or their moms or whatever. I just thought it was cool that they liked my plate enough to snap a photo. By the way, if I was still unsure about what they were doing after the first time one of the guys jumped out of the car, I definitely KNEW what they were doing when the same guy hopped out at another red light! They came up behind me again on purpose and snapped a new picture. I guess that maybe the first one didn't come out. I hope they got the shot cause after that we went opposite directions! It was interesting!! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. I can't wait to begin HoveyPalooza 2003 tomorrow!!! It's finally here!!! Have fun everyone!
