Wow, the connection between Carol and Gil is amazing. I love that she had deeper reasons for being upset with him before, that they've got this past that he didn't even realize because that's just what would happen to Gil. People practically worship him and he doesn't notice at all.

Yeah, I didn't actually know what her deal *was* when I first wrote that little snippy fit that she had. :-) And yes, Gil has no idea the effect he has on people.

Greg knows he's in love and Gil.. well, he's taking the long way round. Poor man.

That's a good way to put it...the long way around. I think one of the CSI writers hit the nail on the head when she said that he, "doesn't have the skills for intimacy." For this storyline, I've conjectured some reasons as to why that might be...but more on that in the next chapter !-)

I know it's probably peripheral to the story, but are we going to see more of Carol/Warrick? I know in my mind how Warrick would deal with Carol's survival of the abuse, but I'd be interested in seeing your take on it.

You and me both! I think she waited to tell Warrick until after she'd told Gil, so she may even have rushed over to tell him about it that very night, as inexhaustible as she is.

But yes, it is peripheral to the story, being as this IS Gil's story. Gil is, however, perceptive and interested in the lives of the people around him, so we will get a touch more of the Warrick/Carol arc as it relates to Gil's world. It'll be small, but hopefully it will say a lot about Warrick's reaction. This story is really about how Gil relates to *all* the most important people in his life, and I still need him to have a connection with Warrick and one with Nick before the tale is done.

So yeah, loving this. You are incredible.

Thanks darling :-)

Hmm, was the exclusion of Sara intentional or did I forget and he already made his connection with her? Or was she included in with Nick since they're married? Sorry about all the questions but your story arc is quickly becoming more fun than canon since we will never get this kind of insight into our favorite characters there.

And I totally understand about Carol/Warrick. I also find it somewhat amazing that most (and I use that term loosely) slash writers consider Warrick the only straight man on the show. He's seems to be very good with the ladies.

The bit with Sara was in Chapter 2 of Book 2.

Yeah, the people who write the show seem to think we're interested in the crime solving or something stupid like that. Pshaw!
