I'm going to have to reread this when I can see through the tears.

MAN, did that pretty much finish me for the day. Grissom is the only person in the world Nick should be with right now, and he can sob all he wants, and Gil can rock him, and there can be rainbows in the morning.

Don't spend too much time re-reading...I need more "Within/Without" before I leave for NM on Sunday!

Thanks for reading. I'm always happy to make someone cry :-)

Wow. The chapter started off sweetly, nice visit to the visitor's center, seeing Nick's smile at the bird checklist, Gil's disappointment of the lack of a bug one. The almost casual ease of looking for dvds to rent. The nice trek in the woods, even with Gil's bee sting kit.

Very few Author's have noted that I must say in other writing, good work.

I loved the broken "moment" so quiet, so real.

I would have never guessed that Monty Python could trigger a memory and a "repressed" one at that. Nick's reaction was so heart wrenching, his outburst touching.

Gil's slow dawning of the ramifications, his ease in which he comforted Nick truly touching. You said in your story warning contained "slowness" well I quite enjoy a nice long stead story with these kind of realistic build ups.

Thank you-

Kristen

Yeah, the trippy autopsy scene in GD bears a *striking* resemblance to that scene from the film, right down to the camera angles. I'm sure QT must have been influenced by it.

Wwwaaahhh! Write faster. You can't just leave us with sobbing Nick in Gil's arms. Not that that's a bad place to be, by any means, but we have to know... Please?

Great trigger! Seemed realistic to me, anyway.

Loved the Gladiator bit. Also, Gil being amused by "Every Sperm Is Sacred" just kills me!

Good mix of h/c and humor. ^_^

The lone special features disc up for rental thing is based on a true story.

Yes, the sperm song would amuse Gil. He's a recovered Catholic, don't forget.

Gil blinked, then with a sigh, he pulled Nick close. Now Nick was getting mud on his shirt as well, mud and mucus and who knew what else, but if Gil noticed, again he didn’t seem concerned. Nick pressed his face into Gil’s chest, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Shh."

"I was gonna die, Grissom," he murmured. "Oh, god…I was gonna die."

Killed me. I'm now an ex-Knightmusic. Joined the bleedin' choir invisible.

Seriously. I knew it was coming, and it still floored me. Damn.
