Black Magery 2310

Sierra was ready this time. Unlike the last time she'd been in this building, it was just after sunset and she wasn't half-asleep on her feet. And that meant she wasn't going to be taken off guard by anything popping out from around a corner this time, be it a student or a... well, she still wasn't quite sure what that had been, except that it had been alive (and in the case of something that looked like that, well, alive wasn't saying much).

And it just figured that this time, she got to the classroom without incident. It was always the days you were prepared that things didn't happen, wasn't it?

It was a normal classroom. A nice classroom, even. There was a separate lab, of course, and it wasn't in nearly as nice of a condition (after all, you couldn't do fire magic without scorching a few walls), but obviously they wouldn't be headed there on the first day. Or in the first week, for that matter, if she had her way. Not that she needed the week herself, to practice some of these other forms of magic. Of course not. She just didn't want them in the lab before they'd gotten the basics down in the lecture... oh, who was she kidding? She wanted to get more practice in herself. She'd only learned non-rune magic when she came to Desai, and even though she'd been just as good at it... well, more practice was never a bad thing.

She sat on the table at the front of the room that was likely supposed to function as her desk; her feet didn't quite touch the ground, and she crossed her legs in front of her and waited for her class to arrive. She'd probably look pretty strange to them at the front of the classroom, diminuative and all in white (from her hair and skin to her dress and stockings) and sitting on the desk instead of at it, but that was all right.
