I can't believe 2012 is over.
I think I wasted the year, but I am determined to hit the ground running for 2013. I'm actually at home this year, but fly out tomorrow afternoon. I usually spend New Year's Eve jet lagged and fall asleep well before midnight rolls around.
Being at home was actually not bad this year. I was prepared for a deluge of emotions, but I was really okay with everything. Thank goodness. Perhaps it was because my sister was overwrought with boy dramas.
As per usual, I am thinking about my resolutions for the upcoming year. Losing my dad just completely clotheslined me and by the time I got back on my feet, I was overwhelmed by everything there was to sort out and how little time there seemed to be.
My resolutions for 2013:
- Lose the obligatory 10 pounds
- Get a better paying job
- Organize three portfolios: illustration, animation and graphic design
- Figure out what makes me happy and get started on it
I hope to have a new animation reel by the end of January... that's ambitious, but I'm shooting for it. I think I'll aim for having a graphic design portfolio by April. And then I'll probably have to revamp my animation one with new work by then, so I'd like a new piece to add by the end of June. I'll worry about illustration last, since I do have some work I can pull from for that already started.
Let's do this thing, 2013!
Have a wonderful New Year everybody! :D
