Question for PayPal users
Hi Friends,
I will be opening commissions soon and I have a few questions about Paypal that I thought I would ask people here. I'm sure lots of people have sent or received money via paypal by now and might be able to answer my questions, where GOOGLE has failed me!
1. I'm US based with a simple, free personal paypal account-- Can I receive funds from international clients? I'd like to be able to send my art anywhere in the world, I just don't know if paypal will allow me to accept non-US funds?
2. Is there a way to minimize or avoid fees? If someone sends me funds, do they get charged a fee? I've only ever sent funds via paypal through ebay, where I have not been charged. I know if i send an invoice, I will be charged a fee. I don't want paypal to eat the money, you know?
3. What tips and advice can you give me, fellow artists, for taking commissions? I've only had a few here and there and mostly my work has been in person, where paypal has not been used. Is there another method of payment you would suggest? Anything I should be expecting? Pitfalls? Things to look out for? Things NOT to do?
