I hereby promise not to shoot Matt Halliday. He can refer to this post, next time I point a crossbow at him, and announce, "You said you wouldn't do that!" Anyway, I can't find my marshmallows. But they'll be good and stale when I do, I promise! Bwhah. I wonder if they'd let me take that overseas? ...probably in checked baggage; must remember not to pack really important stuff in there in case they decide that the only thing that shows up on x-ray is a long metal strip and that it is unacceptable and the whole bag must be immediately incinerated or whatever they do with things they "can't find."

Still toying with the siege engine idea; I also doubt that anyone remembered that we're out of cat food, because my parents went off to buy a shower door. I haven't had shower doors to draw on in forever! I'm excited about that idea. Maybe they'll bring home some workmen to correctly install this one. That'd be awesome.

I have also cleverly removed the rest of the family from the photo-shoot picture at the house. Mum and Da are going to go help shear the alpacas of a friend of ours (I think it's still chilly, but better early and chilly in a barn than too hot and too late). Gary shoots large format, something my Da really likes. For any of you who've met the man...well, it's not fucking possible to work AND not hurt his feelings by telling him to shut the fuck up. Don't get me wrong, I love the stories, but you know what? Sometimes it's not the time and there's no polite way to say that. So I'm feeling clever.

Also, I finished the knife sheath. I took some photos, too, one against a granite background and one against a white one that I deliberately blew out. I think it turned out awesome, considering I haven't dyed anything in a long time and it was a little, tricky piece. Next time, before breakfast! Less shaky hands, maybe. I'm also toying with the idea of a carved corset; trying to think up how the pieces fit together and not coming up with much useful, although I think I should totally soak whatever it is and tape it down to...something. Me, unfortunately, as I lack an alternative. The Mongolian Hat is done, in case anyone's curious. The next one will have a horse hair tassel, which I'm told is quite traditional.

"It was a goood conversation." It's a shame I can't type out that accent...hm. It's funnier in person, and anyway, it was a good conversation.

photos, travel, leather stuff
