I went to
Paperbacks Plus to sell half of the books still in storage. Since their store credit prices are extremely fair, I opted for that instead of cash. And, managed not to blow it all. I showed restraint, buying only a Cure cd and an anthology of short stories with both Sherman Alexie and Neil Gaiman. There were two other anthologies with Sherman Alexie stories, but none that also featured Neil Gaiman, so I was able to resist. Willpower, I sometimes has it.
I recommend that my fellow Dallasite book fans go there. It lacks the selection of Half Price Books, but its winding bookshelves and maze like layout is fun to explore. And, one you get store credit there, books that were once half priced are now 1/4 priced.
Also, if you're looking for cheap reading material, you can't beat free. Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday. If you're not in Dallas, hunt up a comic book store that's participating, and pray that they have the Atomic Robo issue in stock. I still giggle when I think about that comic.
If you're in Dallas, there's events going on all around town. Swing by my store, pick up freebies, admire our new layout and selection of games, meet the creators of
Two Lumps, and say hi to me. I'll be frantically running around, trying to maintain some semblance of order among the chaos. But I always appreciate a hello and a smile.
Last but not least: who in north Texas pissed off the Decemberists? Why are they avoiding us like the plague for their current tour?
