Well, I´m finally here. I´ve been with Christian´s family most of the day these past three days, moving into our new apartment. It´s right by the airport, so it´s a bit noisy, but I´m sure I´ll get used to it. Besides, it´s fun to watch them take off and land. Our apartment is close to everything: a Supermaxi (the local supermarket chain), an open air market, phone stalls so that I can call back home, an internet cafe, restaurants...everything. It´s nice living in a city. I thought I´d never say that.
So far the language barrier has been frustrating, but not impossible. We´ve been visiting a lot with family, so everyone is trying to get a word in edgewise, and that pretty much leaves me out of the conversation since they all want to talk at the speed of light. But I know I´m getting better. It´s just frustrating not to be able to express myself like I can in my native language.
We´ll be moved in by Tuesday, officially. My how time flies.
