Grindelwald was the one who died first. Dumbledore was not surprised, not by any means, but this didn’t stop him from flying on his broom to the wizarding terminal clinic in Bulgaria. Dumbledore found him under another name.
“You take too long,” said a man who was far too old to have once been a young, dashing boy.
“You aren’t dying fast enough, you bloody queer.” Dumbledore’s voice was small and bitter. He moved to the bedside of the emaciated wizard, anyway, his frail white fingers curling around Gellert’s age-spotted hand.
“Pot, kettle, black,” Grindelwald snickered before his eyes closed.
