Petition for Ian McKellen as Grindelwald?

Mar 02, 2008 17:39

I was like, going through the rumours section on McKellen's site, because those stuff are always of the lulz, when I came across this;
14 November 2002
Fact: Ian McKellen has NOT agreed to succeed the late Richard Harris in the role of Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. He has expressed interest in perhaps playing a different role some time in the future of the series.

OMG, OMG, let's do this ppl, let's actually start a petiton! Petition, and then letter writing.

Let's use PetitionOnline, how does this look so far;

Dear Ms. J.K. Rowling

We the fans of your series who have greatly enjoyed your richly narrated books and their thrilling movie adaptations, holds great anticipation for the year 2010!

We're aware that due to the tragic limits of time and budget, much of your stories could not be brought on screen. Since Grindelwald has such an impact on the life of Dumbledore however, and indeed, the wizarding world of your tale, we felt that the spirit of the book would not be in the movie without at least one cameo by Grindelwald.

As Grindelwald's nationality was never explicitly stated, could you please, please, cast Ian McKellen? Sir Ian McKellen has previously expressed an interest to play a role in one of your movies. In addition to impressing many fans of the sci-fi fantasy genre in his role as the mighty wizard Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, and the ambiguous antagonist Magneto in X-Men, McKellen is also friends with Michael Gambon.

......

Somehow, that seem more like a letter than a petition, um, help? Opinions?

...and Ian McKellen is still very, very, very, sexy. Yes / No / YES?

...and on a less hormonal note, McKellen is an incredibly talented actor. Just look at the picture of him as Prisoner #0001 in the picture on the right. He's got that really scary, really sad, empty look.
