Click to viewBelieve it or not, Throbbing Gristle were huge supporters of this project; all recording equipment was lent from the Industrial Records studio. Something about this track fascinates and disturbs me, even if it's basically dark synthpop. The vague vocals and slightly menacing tone probably have a lot to do with it.
This was Robert Rental's only LP effort. He also recorded a demo and two singles before abandoning his musical career. If you like this, his "Double Heart" is much poppier but every bit as bleak. He was also known for introducing artists to the Wasp synth. Rental passed away in 2000.
