OK, so any recent comments I made about traffic being better, I hereby retract. I had to take our new kitty in to the Humane Society to be spayed yesterday and pick her up this morning. Sunday at 0700, traffic was a snap. (On a side note, I can't believe how well behaved this cat is - especially in the car). This morning was another story. What took me about 40 minutes round trip (including paperwork) yesterday took almost 2 hours this monday morning before 0800. Traffic moved at half the speed of smell (apparently that's under 25 mph) until right before my exit. Oh well, at least I don't have to deal with it regularly.
So, Laura pawned this cat off on our family. Sweet little thing. Doesn't meow unless she needs something, only quiet when she's nervous, lets several small children pet her at once...she even climed in the cat carrier on her own. Knock on wood, I wish I could keep her with me. The vet said she might have a tough time recovering since she was only 4 lbs yesterday.
I went hiking with Virginia yesterday, then *gasp* went to the mall and dinner in a t shirt, dirty jeans and no make up. It took 2 1/2 weeks of immersian in hippie land, but the granoloids finally got to me, thus sending me into public unkempt. in a way it was liberating, but it was great to see her and her dad again, regardless of wardrobe.
The symphony was great on Friday night. Shannon and I got founder's tier box seats almost over the stage for $10 a pop. I love student discounts! The show was great, and it was fun to have drinks and appetizers/dessert before/after the show, respectively. My haircut and outfit did put a few years on me, I think...but do I really look that old? I guess I'd have to wear a hoochie skirt to be carded nowadays.
Oh well, I'm going east, young man, in two days. I can't wait for the rest of the summer!
