1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal...along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
"At one stroke Mill therefore removed the hopeless aridity of classical doctrine, which seemed to condemn men to observe a supposed natural law inhering in private enterprise under capitalism - a law that had been held to perpetuate poverty and injustice."
So i thought this would be an appropriate time waster, since it's finals and all. Not much to report here. I'm kind of bummed that I'm in Lexington all summer, but then again, I really don't have anything cooler to do anyway.
I had my first stitches the other day. I wish I had a cool story like pirates kidnapped me and ordered me to recite Shakespeare and when I failed, they made me walk the plank, but at the last second, I grabbed onto the side of the ship as pirannahs lept towards me (yes, Amazonian pirates), but all they got was my knee - and that's why I bled all over my ducks, went to the hospital and was distracted from studying. Instead, I was on my way to lunch, fell up the stairs, went into pussy-itis induced mild shock (think Saving Private Ryan...good thing I'm not actually going to be shot at), Doug dragged me to the post hospital where I asked for a band aid, I got 5 stitches, and have been gimpy ever since. Not so cool, but at least I don't have to march in the silly parades at the end of the year!
Douglas has been super sweet lately. I'm on confinement, so I couldn't go out to lunch with his friends, but he brought me back Applebee's spinach-artichoke dip! Yum! And he made me tea when I was upset, and all in all has been a sweetie. I feel like I've been really bitchy lately, but I suppose I'll get over it.
So, all in all, I'm ready for this semester to be done...one simple final tomorrow. I say simple, but I only got 88/100 questions right on the practice test before I studied...rather will study. I think I'm going to get some extra sleep tonight.
