Latest Breaking Gnus
Some of you might have caught wind that my father went into surgery on Wednesday to get his right hip replaced again. The surgery went well, they managed to remove three bone cysts that ended up being larger than the x-ray showed, filling in the gaps with cadaver bone. He is in good condition and will be expected to stay over in the hospital until Saturday or Sunday.
He'll be on a walker for 30+ days and then graduate to a cane for 60+ days, during that time he cannot pidgeon/penguin-toe his feet or move his leg to an angle greater than 90º. After that he can get back to his thrilling bionic man lifestyle.
I'm relieved he's doing well and in good spirits. Now all I'm freaking out over is his recent PSA test showing an increase, which means his prostate cancer might be resurfacing. Emphasis is on might for the moment. PSA tests are not a 100% means of tracking this sort of thing. He's going to get a follow-up examination soon and we'll know for certain. Until then we wait and hope.
This reminds me that I need to get tested this year, too. I've planned on doing that since I turned 30 last Halloween.

Meanwhile, back at the clubhouse, I'm losing my fugging mind over work. Three weeks and counting of non-stop pressure and insanity has started to take it's toll. The one day I took to escape and await news on my father - I GOT CALLED TO WORK. >_<
I've had a nice talk with my manager, so at least we're on the level. Once I get things under control I'm going to take a day off. Hopefully this will be Monday. Do not be surprised to find the curtains drawn, the door bolted, the phone unplugged.
If I'm online it will be to vent primal rage upon unwitting and happless mobs, so please don't take the big whopping Do Not Disturb sign personally - I'll resurface to public life again after I've soaked all of Kalimdor knee-deep in blood. Situations like this are why orcs don't carpet their homes in Orgrimmar, folks.
