Bold can't appear in the subject lines, which is total horse shit.

It turns out that for a 64 bit system, your drivers need to be specifically made for a 64 bit system. This might seem like a no brainer for most people, but I got lost on the "100% backwards compatibility" phrase. That statment is mostly true, every other peice of software I have used works perfectly... unless its related to a device. So I tried to install a Windows XP driver for my sound card on Windows XP x64... and my computer failed. So I spent the rest of Fridaynight, saturday morning, saturday night, and Sunday fixing and reinstalling everything. It all works just fine now, so I'm going to start throwing out all the boxes.

On a related note, I'm on disc 4 of the WOW install. MY DVD-RW isn't functioning properly, but it's hooked up correctly, so I'm not too concerned. After I finish with the WOW install I'll shut down, clean up the inside of the case, and seal this baby up.

I put a "new" storm article up. It's new to this incarnation of the storm, but it isn't new to the storm specificly. I had it stored on my old 5GB HD from college (which is now my "download Drive" because it'll make life & defragmenting easier). BTW, having multiple hard drives is a pretty amazing advantage. For instance, put crappy programs and media on a slower drive, and games and Preformance programs on a faster one. This also makes it easier to run multiple programs, as the memory bandwith choke point is gone.

Also, the SATA drive I got, is quiet as hell, I can't hear it at all. And my CPU fan, makes a very low hum (quieter then my TiVo's fan). Anyway, I need to set up my surround sound system... I guess, and clear my living room of all these damn boxes.

memories, wow, computer, the storm, cleaning, hardware
