017: Artwork

If there's one mangaka who has my utmost respect, it has be (and in this case, they're a group) CLAMP.

And if there's one work that made an impact on me, so much so that I'm frustrated that I can't draw anything but stick figures, it is X.

This picture does not represent the awesomeness, but it still is awesome, right/right/HELL YES RIGHT? You'd really have to hold a piece, or better yet, pieces of X in order to appreciate how awesome it was drawn. Mokona Apapa is the genius behind X illustrations, and she, in my opinion is the female Akira Toriyama. Now imagine Mokona drawing for Dragonball! OMG the flowing hair ajejejejeje!

Okay, kidding aside, X is the most awesome manga I've ever read (too bad it isn't finished), and has yet to be overshadowed by any series. But since it was drawn from 1997(?) until 2000-something, you will notice a slight change in the drawing style (i.e. earlier drawings are very heavy on the eyes, I don't know if that had something to do with shading; whereas more recent drawings have those toned down).
