Countdown to freedom: T minus 35 hours

Nov 10, 2009 17:37

Oh my stars. Freedom, I can taste it, it's already within my grasp. My clearance only lacks one signature - HR. My turnover is 90% complete, and the only thing I have to clear up is my desk! Huzzah for November 11!!!

--- --- ---

Aside from The Big Biñan Move of November and NaNoWriMo, I forgot to add something that's keeping me busy.

Candlelight Service, which is on Christmas eve. It's our first Christmas pala without Tatay, which is MAJOR, since for the past 23 years I've celebrated Christmas Eve in Malolos. It doesn't help too that Tatay's birthday falls on Christmas, so ... yeah. I hope to minimize the drama by cooking up something really different for our first official noche buena (for some reason, we don't do that in Malolos ... don't ask I find it weird too XD). Probably something with extra virgin olive oil, fish and feta cheese.

Okay, I digress ... once again, Candlelight Service! We've actually started practicing two months ago (hahaha early much?) and we have four confirmed choir songs:

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, which I personally call "Hang Yourself" due to the last part, where you have to hold a high note for 15 counts. The sheer lack of air during those 15 counts makes you feel like you're being hanged.
Carol of the Bells - promise, swallowing your saliva in between notes, or fighting the urge to salivate is key. I was actually suggesting that we each get our own suction - the one that's being used by dentists for prophylaxis - so we don't choke on our own spit. LOL.
Payapang Daigdig, which we just started to practice
Kumukutikutitap, which we've never practiced. XD

Aside from these four songs I have a duet for Christmas All Over The World, and I'm like ... LOL OMG when I heard it for the first time. I mean, come on ... Sheena Easton? Good luck na lang talaga. XD

On the other hand, this arrangement is better than last year's service, cause then I had to do two solos with the choir backing me up (Hark The Herald and Joy To The World), and the pressure of doing that, ugh! So I'm happy with this year's arrangement. XD

And ... hang ... yourself a merry little Christmas nooooow ~~~

Oooooh, a shiny meme, and it's NaNo-related! I was tagged by ek_misao. =D

So, I'm assuming that this meme is about the main character in my story, right? And ... I get to answer this according to my character's personality, right? LOL. This should be interesting, and maybe long-winded. Can I include this in my word count? Hahahahahahah!

1. Introduce yourself! Are you a superhero? A tennis player? OR! An evil alien from outerspace out to kidnap maidens for your own harem?

I am Dylan Mikhail Rhisiart Devereaux-Rafilli, once heir to the most affluent familes of the System of Andromeda, now disgraced. It is both my boon and bane to become the Guardian of Andromeda, the highest position a noble can possible hold, only second to the Emperor. Being a Guardian is my destiny - one that I refused to accept. This decision, inevitably, had dire consequences.

2. Oh... What about weapons? Do you even use weapons?!

I have been trained rigidly in the martial and military arts inasmuch as I have been educated by the best minds of the System. I prefer to use a double edged sword. I always get my prey.

Though it may not seem like it, I fare very well in a fistfight. Being a noble is a poor excuse for one to get dirty.

3. Cool! Any sidekicks?

If Hokuto Desshin was not with me .. well, then, the answer would obviously be none.

4. So who's the big bad villain?

I am the villain of the story, inasmuch as I am its hero. I am a flawed being, but a part of me doesn't understand why I get so much attention. (side comment - LOL!)

5. Does our hero have any love interest?

She ... is now engaged to another. I refuse to talk about it in length, but I choose to be happy for her. Yet, I long for her still.

6. Alright! Now tell us what your story is all about!

Why should I? What end do you wish to accomplish? And why are you so giddy? I think I have told you everything you need to know.

7. Great! Now go and tag others to do this!

If viridianzephyr can see this entry, then she is it.

randomness, nanowrimo, kalokohan, christmas, church
