My lolo passed away today.
I'm supposed to be on leave tomorrow. The wake is just for two days - kind of like Nanay's two years ago. But Mang Temi is making me come to work for a freaking half day tomorrow.
My point is - FAMILY. Is there no such thing as work/life balance anymore? I don't know what their traditions are with their dead, but this is close family we're talking about. Here in the Philippines, we're talking about tradition. We're talking about FAMILY. I'm sorry, but this is just unbelievable.
And, with that and many other factors, I have made my decision.
Thanks to everyone who have sent their condolences. I don't know the details yet, but it happened very quickly and unexpectedly, that's for sure. If you're going to ask how I'm pulling through ... I honestly don't know how to deal with it. With Nanay it was kind of ... expected. With Tatay however, none of us saw it coming. Not even Mama. This is a shock.
