This week just had drama written all over it. I think I'll account 25% of it to my impending monthly visitor, but the rest, I know, is not just my own mood swings.
Mama told me to chillax at event at the Manila Pen last night, which I pretty much did. But before that I just emo'd a good hour and a half after 5:30, doing the graphic boards for the new office. Most of the time, Photoshopping is bliss. Cause, I thought, "I should work with everyone here (with spite) so I might as well stay here and do this so I can make the deadline." (still, with spite).
Before I knew it, it was already 7PM. Event starts at 7. XDDD After freshening up, went down to Herrera to catch a cab. Then I realized I forgot my wallet, so I had to come up to the 19/F and get it. After trying to get a cab for the next 15 minutes, I thought how stupid I was for wasting so much time, cause The Pen is just a 15-minute walk.
So, I walked to The Pen. Got lost when I started to find the Rigodon ballroom, cause when I walked in to the lobby I thought it was the ballroom already. Their lobby was the shit.
So, eventually, I found the Rigodon, walked in, and went straight to the buffet. Not only was the lobby good, but their food was as well. I finally caught up with the others, including Shachou and Buchou. This is where the fun starts. XDD
I went to the dessert side of the buffet table, and there lay 3 layers of bowls with the sign "Chocolate Truffles". I went "hmmm, it really isn't safe for me right now, but I won't get to eat this for a long time! XD" So I got five, for me and the others. Then suddenly, Shachou was hovering over me. Sabi niya "Those are the best chocolates in Manila. Get everything!" And I thought "Are you serious? These waiters are already looking at me cause I'm getting five, and you're telling me to get EVERYTHING?!?!" But it was too late, he already started pointing at the bowls, and I couldn't do anything but obey XDD (my job might be on the line). I just thought that the waiters can't do anything cause a foreigner's making me do it. XDDD
After returning to our cocktail table all of us tasted the chocolate, and we were like ZOOOOMG THESE ARE THE BEST!!! Putakte, kung wala lang akong allergy I would have gone back and got a batch just for me.
After we finished the chocolates, Shachou told me "Why don't you go back to the table, get more chocolates, and stuff them in your bag?" I laughed and said I couldn't do it. Shachou shrugged and said he'll do it.
I think my eyes went O________O, and I laughed with disbelief. But he did saunter to the buffet table, causually took a plate, picked the chocolates, and returned to our table. Then he took a napkin, placed it above the plate of chocolates and turned it upside down!!! O____O Then he stuffs the napkin full of chocolates in my bag!!!!!!!!!!!
OHHH MY GOOOOOOSH! *ROTFLMFAO*
When Buchou saw it, he simply said "I don't want any part of that." XDDDDD And Shachou did it a second time for Borj. It was crazy the first time, it was insane with the second. Totally unreal.
We started talking about arboring things, like him saying that there's this event in a London where people were stealing the china, and this airline where the salt and pepper shakers were so posh that the passengers took them home, and this candleholder that his mum took home cause she thought it was pretty, and she took it from the restaurant with the candle still fricking lit! PAKSHET! That's just wrong! XDDD But it was really funny.
I didn't know that GMA was attending the event. No wonder there was a red carpet.
So when she came in, her entrance was announced "Ladies and Gentlemen, Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo." Shachou and I were together - Borj went out for a while and Lolopie went out for a smoke. We were seated in a couch so we stood up. The President was wearing a red dress, which really made her look nice. But since it was a really informal-formal night for us, I told Shachou...
Me: (whisper) You know, when I was in school, we used to call her hamster.
Shachou: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
ZOMG. And as if that wasn't enough, he even told Lolopie. XDDD But Lolopie was so all over in her defense, saying "You know, I saw pictures of her when she was young, and she was very pretty. But you know, you get old." I didn't have time to explain to them that we called her that (P4+3) because of the way that she smiles. XD
As I have said before, "namamakla" is a term we use in the office when we do good things to other to get something more in return. In common terms, that's "networking" XDDDDD. Shachou and Borj left early, so I was left with Buchou. We were just talking - good thing that Lolopie's really an easy person to talk to, but the way we started talking when it was just the two of us was funny.
He was originally beside me in the couch, and when Borj left, he moved to her seat, saying "I'd better move here, or else people might think we're together!" I laughed so hard, cause he's really got the Pinoy way of thinking all figured out. And true enough, some people actually thought we were together. One exec from BusinessWorld came to him later on that night, and when he saw me with Buchou, he asked him "Are you...?", pointing his finger back and forth at the both of us. Buchou said "Oh, this is JC. She's my right hand."
The BusinessWorld exec, don't get me wrong, was a really nice person. It's just that that that way of thinking is really Pinoy nature. But I was really happy with Buchou's comeback with that. I would have given him a *mwahuggerz* after, but then, MORE people would assume we were together.
In the end, I got to convince that BusinessWorld exec to call me regarding a future project, which was great =D I met a lot of nice people from that meeting, and even got to shake hands with the bigwig daughter of Raul Locsin. Buchou was wondering why I didn't give her a card, and I told him "I was fumbling though my bag, but I couldn't get it", but I had all my cards on my pocket. XDDD
And if ALL OF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, I saw Annabelle Rama inside the Pen! XDDDD I had my doubts if it was her, cause I have no showbiz knowledge whatsoever. XD But when I was picked up by my parents, my mom said "UY! SI ANNABELLE RAMA! Mag-hi tayo!" And I just shrank on my seat. My mom opened the windows, waved and said "Hi!". Sabi ni Mama Annabelle smiled, but Eddie Gutierrez had a wider smile. LOL. Taray queen. Showbiz just isn't my thing.
I woke up today at 11:30. That's bliss.
