Why Rain's concert got cancelled.
Not because I'm not a Rain fan that's why I'm saying this...but...
DUHS!!!!!
ZOMG, I so~~ knew it!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but from the start pa lang na narinig ko ang world tour niya, two things came to my mind: [1] It's going to be a flop; and [2] Something will go (horribly) wrong. XD But I was betting on the first more than the second, even though I know that Rain's got tons of fans XD
Even so, I still feel thinking like this is really evil of me =D
Before you barrage me with hate comments, let me just state my case about this.
It started with Time's 100 Most Influential People list. Rain was included. Protests rained, (hahaha) from me and some people at least. XD I remember mentioning in this LJ that Rain being included is just...unrealistic. So...he sold 1 million copies of "It's Raining" in Asia. So that automatically makes him a worldwide superstar that's TIME-listed worthy?
Yes...there are other qualifications, for instance, the voting. But even the votes are questionable. As a fangirl myself, I'd do anything to support my boylet, even vote for him a hundred times. I remember doing that for the 2004 (ata) MTV Asia Awards for Kangta. Pakshet, naalala ko pa nun, isang beses ka lang puwede bumoto, so ang ginawa ko LUMIPAT-LIPAT AKO NG COMPUTER SA GOKS PARA MAKABOTO NG MARAMI!!! *ROTFLMAO* Basta, everytime I sat in front of a PC, I voted for Kangta. So, imagine almost a million fangirls, swapping PCs just to vote for Bi. HALLER. Result? A place in Time's most influential people, with the likes of Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tyra Banks, Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth, et al.
I mean sure, he's famous in Asia, and there are more people in Asia than anywhere else in the world, but has he really made that much of a worldwide impact? I'd like to think, not really. If there was any other Asian who could be in that list aside from Rain who's a singer, I'd say (with much gusto) BoA will be the closest. Natatandaan ko, nung pinaguusapan namin ito sa isa sa mga gimik namin, nag-agree kami nina
datenshiaoi at Karla na mas rational na si BoA ang malagay sa listahan.
Second, we go to the concert. Naalala ko na nag-usap kami ni Karla tungkol dito, and we both agreed on this: Parang napaka-aga naman ata niyang magwo-world tour?!? It's good to be ambitious, but not too ambitious. At si Karla, fan ng ipis, ay este...Rain. Although I do think that having a concert at Madison Square Garden is applaudable, it still wasn't convincing me that he's got super-superstar status.
I was like, thinking before "If he gets shown on those chika shows like E! or The Insider because of his world tour, then he's fricking famous and he deserves the Time spot. If not, LOOOOL! Haller! Time just wasted one spot!"
And so, here we are. He's facing so much legal shit right now, but in his defense, it's not his fault. It's his fricking organizers and promoters who were looking for the fast buck instead of thinking long term. If they were half...no, maybe 2/3s as smart as Lee Soo Man it would have crossed their mind to take their time and invest on what they have now, rather than spending on something so major...
StarM sold the copyright to a newly setup Korean film named Revolution. Revolution has no basic understanding and knowledge about the stage design nor concert preparation, it just wanted to earn quick money through the shows.
...Or, if they really want to take a risk, then at least put your risk on companies you can rely on!
StarM was also unaware of the planning and preparation on Revolution side, until they were informed by Revolution just before the concert was called off.
Ayan, diyan pa lang...that's like...DUH?! What were you thinking? Why weren't they aware? It just goes to show that they may not be even ready for logistics as big as this.
But then again, it's his fault for choosing stupid promoters and organizers. Now they've ruined his reputation.
"Rain's USA concert was a fraud since the beginning."
As much as I don't like it when my negative hunches are right, but...they are.
Nakakaawa ang taong-mata-na-kinagat-ng-ipis....
