So my chili donuts were a complete failure. The fried biscuits were pretty tasty, but I couldn't manage to get the chili into the biscuit. One of the other members was considerably more successful, and essentially made chili filled hush puppies. He made some hush puppy batter, put a spoonful of chili in the middle, and rolled them up into balls. They were excellent, but I haven't given up on my version yet. Next time I plan to cut the biscuit dough in half and put some chili in the middle and make a ball, similar to the hush puppies. Fry 'em up and sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top...viola! If anyone really wants to see the picture I took I can post them, but they are pretty boring. I suppose they'd be boring if it worked, too, but it's all for that chili donut shot. The pictures I have are of the ingredients, the biscuits cooking in a pot of oil, and a picture of all the cooked biscuits laid out. The pastry bag was a horrible idea.
