God, yes. This episode...it just came out of no where. I mean, with the last shot of the first season, you knew it was going to have to be good, but this one really hit it out of the ballpark. I think what one of the things that I love the absolute most aside from the character moments (which there are so many, and they are so fucking awesome) is the realism.
How many shows have a character go through an experience and brush it off? But not this one, oh no. Olivia went through a freaking windshield, there's no just walking away from that. Which brings me to the other part, the fact that they maintain her injury and recovery for the following episodes. This...attention to detail and continuity...that has been the one thing that has so utterly thrown me out of pretty much every show and most movies in the past. Because a character takes a hit and is fine in the next frame. But this one, it goes there, and it embraces it beautifully.
That in particular is what makes Olivia's subtle moments of triumph so powerful. Like when she can fully load her gun, to when Sam make her realise she doesn't have her cane.
I need to axe one of my icons for an Olivia one, but I just don't know which. [sigh]

Yes! That's what I really love about it. This show is good about showing consequences both emotionally or physically. Nothing is erased, it could be shelved but not erased. Walter's experiments comes back to haunt him, Olivia's losses are marked by as Peter called it 'a darkness in the eyes'. Every thing and everyone is held accountable to their actions and it is such a wonderful thing to see in a TV show!
