Found this lovely Olivia-centric vid in YouTube and wanted to share. It's Olivia kicking ass and taking names in season 1.

Also, I've come to the conclusion that if, for whatever reason, I landed in a middle of a gunfight I would be sticking by Olivia like industrial glue. I have never seen anyone so fierce in a gunfight like Olivia ( Read more... )

Oh yes, this was probably one of the best scenes of this entire show, thus far. Because as awesome as this show is, this scene really captures all of the conflict and...complications these three characters contain. This scene is one of the best for illustrating just what these characters have been and may become to each other. Where before Peter was the angry, wronged child, now it is Olivia filling this role, only she has the added righteous outrage for the other children, which when coupled with her sense of duty makes her a far more unforgiving party. And yet, even in spite of all this, she isn't unduly cruel, she barely raises her voice as far as I can remember, and all up, in her quiet rage, makes far more of an impact upon Walter than any of his son's immature failing and childish accusations of the past did.

I consider this a major turning point in the show for all of the characters involved, for Olivia who *FINALLY* expressed something of a reaction in what had been done to her, for Walter who expressed such a profound grief for what the man he'd been has done, and Peter who managed to grow up a little more, and realised how protective he is of his father. For this scene alone, they are a more cohesive group, heading into season two, which, of course, the truth of Walter's ultimate crime rips apart. :p

And oh god damnit, that vid just totally displays one of the very strong reasons I Flove her so much. Don't mind me while I swoon. >.> <.<

It such a beautiful scene isn't it? And you're right about Peter and Olivia switching roles (especially since Walter was vocal about wanting Olivia to be his daughter, and I think in a way she is-- she is Bell and Walter's child but not their creation.)

I really love Olivia's anger its such a beautiful thing to see, she doesn't mince words or beat around the bush. She expresses herself clearly and lays down the facts, that's who she is.

Swoon away! Olivia deserves swooning!
