I missed the teaser of the episode because the copy I got didn't have the first few seconds:(
She has commitment issues
Okay, this is me giving in to my inner non-ship shipper:
OMG! as;ldkjfal;sdkjfl;sdfj People thought they were MARRIED! Dude! Married! And they got the correct time of their partnership (in that in season 1 they stood much, much closer together than in season 2! Yes, I notice these things.) And Charlie continues on the marriage thought and getting all sad about drifting apart! (foreshadow-y goodness!)
And Dani seemed more amused than annoyed at Charlie's banter! And then Charlie shows he is not so happy with the Tidwell and Reese relationship (HAHAHAHAHAHA! YES!) And only seems to tolerate it because it makes Dani happy and he likes it when she opens up!
(Thus validating my claim that Charlie would NO WAY in hell tell Tidwell about Reese and her liking fish other than Charlie rambling it out on accident and Tidwell latching on.)
But I will forever take to heart Charlie showing his displeasure at the relationship! Go, Charlie! Keep on giving Tidwell the chilly look of death! And he seemed to be annoyed he doesn't have Dani's full attention when Dani was distracted by the hot British woman (who is really Mrs. Damian Lewis in real life) talking to Tidwell.
He's so used to having Dani's full attention when he talks it distracts him when she isn't paying attention to him. Given how long and how much he rambles I'm amazed how much Dani manages to follow his ramblings. Even the times that she looks like she's not paying attention, she is. I can see how it would distract Charlie when he knows Dani isn't listening to him. HAAAAAA.
Plus, the whole suit discussion with Reese after? Passive-aggressive, much, Crews?
/end shameless inner non-ship shipper glee.
Raised 'em myself
Well, finally we have some movement in the conspiracy! It was getting tedious the way they kept pushing it BACK (reminds me that I need to get on that meta re: Burn Notice vs Life arc handling). Rayborn interested me but he also wearied me because he was so damned slow about doling out the details.
So, Jack Reese got cold feet, huh? Anyone else think Jack is sleeping with the fishes with Rayborn? Oh, and also, Charlie this is why you should have brought your partner in! So she could alibi you, you moron!
Anyway, it's funny how everyone sees Charlie as a goof except for Rayborn who saw Charlie as overly serious.
My partner has ESP
I liked Sweet William, I liked the mom too and her biker gang! It's like the sweet, homely version of Sons of Anarchy! Also, I fully believe the sweet ol' mom ain't a sweet ol' mom but is, like the matriarch of the biker gang, like in Sons of Anarchy!
What? It could happen!
Tidwell without the gel and better suit? Reminds me how much I love Logue. Happily Sadly, it does not encompass Tidwell. When Tidwell and Reese recreated the Crews and Reese banter I was annoyed (I'm territorial over the Crews and Reese banter. What, first he was versed with the Crews thinking now he's mind melding with Reese? In interests of honesty I think I would feel the same if it were another character. Crews and Reese banter is sacred! Okay, you can shut me up now.)
Someone killed my client and I think it was you.
First: Can I just say how much I missed having a complex, older female character in the show? THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS much! When she first spoke to Charlie (and the first few seconds together, DL and Helen McRory's scenes sparked) I suddenly felt things were right and it was only after Amanda left I realized what it was.
I liked that she was straight forward and her intent clear. She's going to go after Charlie because he IS a likely suspect.
Although, I didn't care for Helen's hair.
Second item: So... was I alone getting distracted how prominent Charlie's package was presented? Because in that scene and how the camera was angled.... it was *cough* distracting.
(Also, I miss Dani getting a serious, substantial scene with another woman. Davis, why'd you have to go?)
Other things I liked? I loved that Dani's wearing boots again! Hallelujah! And her hair is up! And she does look so, so much better with a fuller face.
I miss Dani in some scenes I guess it's the start of scaling back her time, huh? :(
And sweet old mothers are Dani's Kryptonite, huh? Dani was sweet to the mother in A Civil War, Dani found it nice and sweet that the guy in Jackpot bought his mom a house and now the biker mom.
I also continue to love Crews and Reese's fast draw. They draw their guns as fast as John and Aeryn draw their guns and it is AWESOME. I do miss the old SWAT guys from season 1 though.
Dani being all complacent and authoritative with William and then the second storming-in scene (you know Kevlar and gun scenes are always awesome and fun. Hopefully one of these days there will be a shootout. It'd be criminal if there isn't) and Dani, again, complacent at the thought of shooting William in the head.
Then they go to a scene where Charlie describes the feeling of killing someone and that's an interesting thing. His thoughts on killing, how it feels and then juxtapose that with an earlier scene where Dani didn't blink an eyelash about killing someone.
Also, Dani retains the ability to call it when drugs are involved.
The scene where Charlie let all those bullets fall? Fantastic cinematography there. Nice to see Dan Sackheim back in the saddle. He has the visual style down.
You know what did annoy me? I was annoyed how, after the scene Reese and Tidwell entered and seemed to be reporting TO Charlie. Okay, first of, aren't they both senior than Charlie? Why does it seem more and more like Charlie's the boss when he's the junior in the room? Also, I didn't like how they kept recapping. Stop recapping. I got it. And then the interrogation scene with Sweet William.
Look, I love Crews and Reese interrogation scenes but seriously what the hell? You guys didn't think about the missing gun first? C'mon, writers! The Detectives are smarter than that! They get these things. It's kinda like that 'not for nothing' threat. Seriously, dudes, you know your audience are not that dumb, right?
...and the repeating thing... they're usually good at it but recently it's become too much of an affectation and it's becoming annoying.
I continue to be annoyed that 2 years in and Dani's still in the dark about the conspiracy.
On a positive note, the music in this show remains fantastic as ever.

My gallery in Zennish.Net is still down so here are the pictures of Sarah Shahi's wedding. I read somewhere that Sarah and Steve Howey eloped. There was probably going to be a big wedding planned and maybe they panicked and thought: 'Let's get married in Vegas with Elvis!'
Heee. They're just so hilariously adorkable! Congratulations Sarah!
