Life will return next week on February 4 and I've yet to see any promotions done. This is a bit worrying considering Life will be up against Lost and Lie to Me (okay, that's three shows on a Wednesday starting with 'L') but I'm gonna be zen about the ratings. I will zen the ratings into complying to my world view.
Okay, that isn't zen but y'know, still.
Variety reports NBC hired a marketing company to 're-position its brand'. No secret NBC's image is down the drain but I like this quote:
Now, with the Peacock moving Jay Leno into the 10 p.m. slot next fall, NBC execs said it's even more important over the next few months to determine how to position the network.Is it a late night comedy brand, a la Leno/O'Brien/Fallon/SNL? A single-camera comedy brand in the vein of "The Office" and "30 Rock"? A young male-oriented brand, thanks to NFL Sunday Night Football, "Chuck" and "Heroes"? Or should quality drama -- "Life," "Friday Night Lights" -- be its bread and butter?
I hope they decide to go for the quality drama with single camera brand and a touch of young male-oriented brand. Although, I have issues with Chuck being classified under that 'young male-oriented brand' since most fans I know are female. Hell, most fans I've gotten to know in the internet are female.
But I'm so happy they lumped Life together with Friday Night Lights in quality drama category.
NBC did, however, release new image stills for episode 14. The images are extremely spoilery. Thanks again to Dryope!

TED! And a girl with a flower-y car next to the bullet ridden Maserati. I have to say this scene here is similar to the scene in the Ted and Dani story I just finished writing.

Hold Together
Crews/Reese; Handcuffs, Unsaid; 1,254 words
His right hand is cuffed to the door just above his head.
This is a completely un-beta'd, I wasn't even actually planning on writing this story but I was browsing through the prompts in the Porn Battle and the Life prompt caught my eye. Crews and Reese and handcuffs.
Seriously. What could be hotter than that?
But... this is actually the first time I've written a story like this since I'm just the sort of writer who goes fade to black when scenes like these happen.
Anyway... what I'm far more happy about is I'm finally finished with the Ted-Dani, post-Trapdoor story! Eeee! *happy dance*
I also did a Bones picspam featuring Booth's arms.
