The Mentalist

Simon Baker is as enjoyable to watch as ever but if they keep to Jane always figuring things out way before anyone else and Jane being always right? I feel like I'm going to be bored pretty fast. The story bored me and the crime didn't hold my interest but it had good moments - Jane and the Sonata and Jane being empathetic to the girl, the red head agent kicking that Deadwood actor on the groin was awesome also Lisbon continues to be kick ass but again, something about Tunney's performance throws me off. I don't know what or why.

NCIS

Fun episode as usual. I like how Ducky sort of reined in/cautioned Gibbs about getting angry. It allowed Gibbs to stop and think. I like Ziva being all protective of Gibbs, she's very focused on protecting him but Gibbs is having none of it. I think some of this has to do with Jenny's death - not that Ziva wouldn't be as zealous before Jenny's death but I'm thinking that's fresh in her mind right now.

There's also something I've been thinking I wonder if Jenny and Ziva had a falling out before the fourth season aired. Used to be it was Ziva Jenny went to but after that there was hardly any interaction between the two. Also, there seemed to be a distance that wasn't there before. Hmmm...

But the reveal about the real serial killer is sort of lame. I was expecting someone hardcore.

McGee better be careful I don't think Ziva's through toying with him yet. Heh.

Criminal Minds

I caught up with this too. It's a really good crime drama with good characters. I'm all woe for Hotch, he keeps just getting beat down. It's a shame Gideon left but I like seeing Hotch in charge too.

I don't have anything insightful to say but -- BUBBS! He turned into a hobo serial killer (who still has a drug problem) but still, BUBBS!

Reminds me I have to still write up my thoughts on The Wire S4.

NaNoWriMo thoughts still ongoing and tassosss had a few suggestions that I'm gonna incorporate. The more I think about it the more I think that this might be set in a not so distant future, in a fictional city. Something similar to Gotham and all the alien cities from Farscape. I love the grandness and scale of the Farscape cities and I have to confess that I've been wanting to write a story with a City as a character in the story.

It maybe a little steampunk (or is it cyberpunk?) I don't know what the theme would be. The only problem is, it's very similar in tone to the Harsh Realm/Life crossover thing I was planning - where Dani Reese is trapped in the virtual world, thinking she's really a resident of Santiago City and a sgt. in the local PD.

Reese 2.0 (which I'll call for the moment til I get a suitable name) is a sergeant? Maybe she has a team? Or was she busted down from sergeant back to Detective because of something she did, partnered with someone who was a federal agent before transferring to a police department, which brings up a question in itself, why would a fed transfer to a local police department?

I don't know, all I know is that Reese 2.0 is given the new partner to babysit. The department isn't too happy with the fed coming into the department since they think he has an agenda. Their boss is kinda like Davis, Skinner and Gibbs rolled into one. The boss has an agenda of her own, has close personal ties with Reese 2.0's mother, who BTW, may or may not be a powerful DA or Senator or someone with clout.

Should I make Reese 2.0's mom shady? Is the City that steeped in corruption? Maybe. Maybe it is, that some days it's hard to figure how Reese 2.0 can stand getting up from bed day after day. Things happen in the City, to people, the things people do to each other. But the kicker of it is despite everything, Reese 2.0 loves the City. Loves it with every cell of her body. She's been through too much for and because of the City to ever leave it.

As a detective, she's also damned good but she doesn't just rely on the forensics team, she relies on intuition and gut. She knows better than anyone that evidence can also be compromised. Maybe she ratted on someone within the Department? This would explain why she has such a low standing in the Department or possibly she went a little too hard on a case?

Maybe the Fed partner turned cop is the one who ratted on his fellow agents? Now he's been tasked to do the same to Reese 2.0?

Hmm... how about Jaina as a name for Reese 2.0?

I've also been re-watching The West Wing and now I've gained a sort of internal Toby. It is an odd and disconcerting feeling.
