Only been here an hour and the ignorance is seeping through the phone lines already.
So a guy calls and says that he was pulled over the other night and they arrested him for driving with a suspended license. He wanted to know why they didn't give him a ticket and if he could sue the police because they didn't.
I told him that I was pretty sure that if he was arrested that they didn't need to give him a ticket; that they probably arrested hin in lieu of giving him a ticket.
Then there was a five minute conversation about how to pronounce it and what in lieu meant.
