If ever there was a beauty shining like the sun,
With freckles like stars in a midnight dream,
Let her forever hide her face,
In fear of being compared to thee.
Wisdom from the Tao of Buffy:
When Willow started dating Oz, Xander was jealous and Buffy called him on it. Xander explained, "No no no no, it's not like that with us. We're just friends." To which Buffy replied, "Yeah, but you got used to being the Belle of the Ball."
It's all over everything she does. I recognize it - like in the line at the grocery store when you bump into someone from high school that you can't stand but you act friendly anyway. It's awkward and uncomfortable and it reminds me so much of things i don't want to remember. Things I've already dealt with in this life. Things that I don't care to revisit.
Is that the lesson?
Have i really dealt with them?
Buddhist forgive thyself . . . .
