I'm not taking that late grade without a FIGHT, hombre!
I had come to class today all ready to go, only to realize to my utter chagrin that my homework was in my other flash drive. I went to the head of the class and pathetically tried to get permission to go back home and grab it. He silenced my admission with a glance, and I sat back down to watch the rest of the class present their powerpoints.
Two hours later, we stopped for a fifteen minute break, and I half ran, half wheezed my way back home, getting back to school within nineteen minutes, and thus I was able to put what work I did do up with everyone else. Hard won, but a victory nonetheless.
Back in the comfort of my own home, my lungs and the unused musculature that stretches along the front of my shins have spent the last half hour politely informing me just how bad an idea that was, but I don't care. I wasn't gonna get another late note on a project I DID, and forgot to bring with me to school.
That, and I got to meet and talk with a fascinating individual who struck up a conversation with me after mistaking one of my pictures with FF7 Cloud fanart.
And now, something soothing for my throat, a little homework, and bed.
