Oh, Evy doesn't hate people. Except my girlfriends, Slytherins, and anyone who even pretends to have any sort of interest in her friend Pat (she's very possessive). Yeah, so as a word of warning, don't pay too much attention to the redhead who'll be practically glued to her side the whole night. It's not wise.

I'm glad I am not your girlfriend or a Slytherin then. I will also try very hard to more or less ignore the little redhead. Can I at least say hullo to him, or would that be considered "interest"? I would feel awfully rude if I didn't say hullo.

Unless she's gone fantic while I wasn't looking, you're probably safe saying hullo. In fact, it'd probably be best for you to do at least that, otherwise she might think you're ignoring or slighting him, and that'd be just as bad.
