Well, I'm back anyway. So there!
My phone service is finally restored, after almost two weeks (and just in time before my TiVo programming ran out *g*). Had to take a half-day off work so the tech guy could come out and check my line. Turns out my damn phone jack had gone dead. *sigh* What are the damn odds of my jack dying the excat same day I switch providers, I ask you?
Oh well, at least it's fixed now. The guy swapped it out, then ended up not even charging me for the repeair, cuz the cover plate he had didn't really fit with the size wires coming out of my jack, so it looks crappy. But it works, which is all I reall care about. Not like I'm going to be showing off my stylish phone jack to people, or anything... lol
This was such a saga. I really should have been keeping a daily journal of every stupid thing I was told by all the parties involved. I may try to reconstruct it later, for everyone's amusement.
In theory I should be getting DSL sometime next week, but I ain't counting on it till it happens... lol
