FREEDOM!

Well, with Greater St. Louis being yesterday, competitive marching band has been over for twenty-four-odd hours and thirteen minutes as I type this. For a huge surprise, we actually PLACED at Greater St. Louis, which is totally MINDBLOWING, with percussion ranked third in the cream of the crop. This is the hugest achievement that the band has received; Ozarko, Mining Days, Lee's Summit North, Vahalla, none of it means diddly squat compared to this honour.

Outside of the competition, Saturday didn't suck all that bad. We went shopping at Union Station, and although it isn't much, it sure was better than sitting in the stadium all night. I met a super-awesome dude named Jon while Summer, Hilary, and I were supposed to be watching the other bands in our class, since we had a one-fortyfive slot and everyone else had a seven PM slot. I got to watch one Magic: The Gathering game between Summer, Jon, and Trevor, (Summer totally killed them) and then I actually got a small shot at a game with Jon and Eric, with Summer's help because she's GOD at this. We lost, anyways, but Jon knew everything about his deck that we used, and could counter it efficiently. Unbeknowst to me, we totally pissed off their groupies by hanging around them for three hours, and when it came time for us to leave to watch the awards, we gave Jon our e-mail addresses and numbers so we can keep in touch. Holy shit, I have never seen girls so pissed at merely giving a guy a goodbye hug.

So yeah, Saturday was well spent. After another good, long sleep, I'll be ready to go again.

Man, that sleep sounds really good right now.
