Twilight Review
Due to be being detained for a week after my b-day to do daycare aginst my will, because that's what I call having no car. I couldn't see the premiere of Twilight. , but I'm glad I waited because Art_goddess and I watched it by ourselves in an empty theater it was great!! We were able to talk during the movie with no one shhhing..i think they were 2 in the back but they couldn't hear us. Well My mom rewarded me at least with a movie card and I treated my bestfriend to the movie. But whoa..it was a matinee and what gives that the tickets were $9.50 each!! and this was student Id discount day and wouldn't you know it we both forgot our college I.D. s at home. ^^;
I was expecting to complain about the film, but I loved it mostly better than the book!
They couldn't put everything in, but the screenwriter smoothed it out by tying the more important subplots and subtext iinto spoken lines. It was alot smoother and especiall helped that the Nomads/villians were foreshadowed 3x(rule of three in screenwriting). I loved the acting too, but I did have some problems/notes for the production.
The movie people and the real people were saying Kristen and Rob had Chemistry as Edward and Bella. I can see some of it, they respond to eachother. In the scene where Edward bounces the apple in his hand..his ears were red..which means he was blushing, it couldn't showup underneath the pale makeup. I think He really likes Kristen and she's trying to keep her distance. Kristen stop shaking your head so damn much why you speak!! I think she's more comfortable with Taylor (jacob) , their chemistry shows better. The cullens should of had more lines, the kids at Forks high got more lines then the others.
They forgot that Bella faints at the site of blood. Other scenes were there but that.
I loved in the biology scenes that Edward has his head in front of an barn owl. and to it's left is an armadillo, symbolizing Bella and edward. Bird of prey with armored rodent that curls up to protect itself. Did anyone else catch it.
Carlisle Cullen is British, he should at least have a slight british accent in my opinion. But Peter said that He would probably lose it after over 200 years in America. Kim kept calling him the pretty doctor. Also she loved Jasper.
Alice was awesome, she did really good. Emmett needed more lines( he had to cut off his hair for another film)
The nomads okay are supposed to get their clothes from the hikers they murder, but they come out looking like they robbed and American Outfitters or some boutique. But they did a great performance.
Okay during the fight scenes the sound editors could have enhanced their hisses and growls with wildcats..it just didn't sound like what was descibed in the book. Better sound for the vamps could have made the fights/standoffs cooler.
But I would definently love to buy it on dvd! I think I want to see Australia, Despereaux, and Benjamin Button and anything interesting that comes up.
Hope they can start the Host pretty soon I'm dying to see what its like.
okay so thanks to the Director, Cast and Crew of Twilight for a job well done and for the publicity was great and ensured the fanbase stayed connected. And of course to Stephenie for giving us the book in the first place.
