OMG this is so fucking candy-ass. After getting online to see what options are out there for purchasing electric cars, I see that the enviro-blogosphere is going apeshit about the bright future ahead of us. They name ten different manufacturers, all of whom have vehicles "in development" and will come out "next year" or some fucking horseshit like that.
The only thing available is the Dennis Kucinich of the electric vehicle world: the Zap Car. Three wheeled, trunkless nonsense, can only go up to 40 mph. What the fuck?!
Millions. Millions upon millions of Americans in every state in the union have been wanting to stop cramming barrels of Saudi Oil into their veins for at least a decade. It's a fucking business opportunity! Some Swedes in the early 80's came up with the catalytic converter after everyone said air emissions couldn't be reduced. Why are these companies dragging their collective asses on this? Let us buy these fucking cars, douchelords!
Also, to you bushy-tailed lobotomized optimists in the enviro-blogosphere, GET ON YOUR SHIT. All of the progressive blogs from Daily Kos to TPM have become players in the political scene because of their rabid skepticism, and their nose for bullshit. They exist. Learn from them. Trehugger, Worldchanging, Autobloggreen, get some hard hitting writers and come up with stories that will make a stir on Digg, Stumbleupon, and Technorati and you will light a fire under these company's asses. Don't gobble up every little press release that comes your way and get people excited for a future that might not ever come.
In short: political environmentalism: ur doing it wrong!
