GRi <3 [MERRY XMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Christmas Eve}

“And that’s the Jingle Bell…that’s the Jingle Bell…that’s the Jingle Bell Rock! Yeah! Thank-you VIPs! From the bottom of our hearts, we at YG want to wish all of you a happy holiday season! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! To the end, we’re Big Bang!” Sweat glistened on his arms and face, and his heart raced one thousand miles an hour, not from the exhilaration of just having performed a Christmas special in front of hundreds of thousands of screaming fans (for it was an annual and therefore routine occurrence), but from the exhilaration of watching his beautiful maknae doing an adorable victory dance on the other side of the stage as fans dispersed and the world around him simply started to fade away for a moment.

Kwon Jiyong knew that it was wrong to love another boy, his maknae of all people, in such a way but the heart wants what the heart wants. And Kwon Jiyong’s heart beat a thousand and one miles for only one man, who was currently doing another victory dance wearing a panda head garment on the other side of stage. Even if Jiyong could never hold Seungri in his arms the way he wanted to, and whisper sweet nothings in his ear while they cuddled together at night, just seeing Seungri with a bright smile on his beautiful face was enough. Even if he could never grasp those hands tightly in his own, even if he could never taste those luscious pink lips that taunted him daily, all Jiyong ever dared to ask for was his maknae’s happiness. Even if Kwon Jiyong could never call Lee Seunghyun his, all he wanted was to see Seungri smile brightly and live happily. Because in reality, who was Kwon Jiyong to be so selfish as to ruin Seungri’s apparent happiness by confessing his one-sided love? Big Bang’s forever leader? Seungri’s hyung? Being a leader meant putting the group’s needs before his own, which meant hiding how he really felt and protecting a false image. And being a hyung meant putting his dongsaeng’s needs and happiness before his own. So in reality, Kwon Jiyong was no-one, and therefore in no position to be so selfish as to put his own feelings and needs before everyone else’s.

“…yong-ah. Jiyong-ah! Hello…anyone home? Dude! Are you staring at maknae AGAIN!?” Jiyong broke out of his trance, and suddenly the annoyed and empathetic face of his best friend of 8 years, Dong Youngbae, came into view. Youngbae knew from the get go that Jiyong was secretly in love with Big Bang’s maknae, and did everything in his power to keep it in the group. The boys had been relatively accepting of Jiyong’s homosexuality, and surprisingly tolerant of his sometimes childish antics. Sure Jiyong was known as the forever leader of Big Bang because of his maturity and responsible attitude, but by nature Kwon Jiyong was anything but mature. Especially when it came to messing with his beautiful maknae. But that’s another story, for another time.

He tore his gaze away from Seungri, who was currently being piggy backed around stage by Daesung, and focused on Youngbae’s weary face. “Hey, I am entitled to staring at whomever I want. If I want to stare at maknae, then I’ll stare at maknae. But for all you know I was staring at Daesung, or TOP hyung, or hell even Dara…” Youngbae raised his eyebrow questioningly, and Jiyong let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Okay, okay. I was staring at maknae. But so what? It’s not like I’m gonna run over there and kiss the boy! Even though I’d love to kiss him senseless….”

The last part came out barely above a whisper, so as to be heard only by him and Youngbae. A soft sigh escaped Youngbae’s lips, as a warm hand settled over Jiyong’s thin shoulder. “Ji, and I’m being completely serious here, have you ever thought about just coming out and telling maknae how you honestly feel about him? Or are you that afraid of being rejected?”

It took Jiyong a moment to realize that it wasn’t Youngbae who had spoken, and it certainly wasn’t Youngbae’s hand on his shoulder. Dong Youngbae would never in a million years have told Jiyong to confess and risk forever tarnishing his relationship with Seungri as hyung and dongsaeng. That would be something only Choi Seunghyun would suggest. And Jiyong could tell from the sensation of cold metal through his thin shirt that it was definitely his hyung who had spoken. “You know why I can’t do that hyung.”

Seunghyun nodded, and his hand migrated from Jiyong’s shoulder to his head, ruffling his hair. “I know Ji, I know. But I also know that walking away from the one person who could very well be the love of your life is not worth a liftetime of regrets. Believe me, I’ve been there, and as the famous American female singer Cascada once said, ‘What hurts the most was being so close and having so much to say, and watching you walk away. And never knowing what could have been, and not seeing that loving you is what I was trying to do.’ It’s not easy living with so many regrets, but if you can deal with the heartache, then hey, more power to you.”

A quizzical look crossed Jiyong’s face. He had always known Choi Seunghyun to be a man of many masks, but never in a million years would he have thought that beneath those many layers of masks, was a broken hearted teenage boy who’s foolish heart still held onto a love that was now long gone. And to hear such words leave the almighty Choi Seunghyun’s face was nothing short of shocking. “H-hyung…you’ve been there before? But…when? Who?”

A reminiscent and somewhat gloomy expression crossed Seunghyun’s face as the thought back on the one woman who once meant everything to him. “It was my last year of school before college, and she was the new girl. Our story was a pretty cliché one, but the second I saw her, it was like no-one and nothing else mattered. It took me three weeks to just get her to greet me, but once those words left her lips, our fates were sealed.  From then one, she and I were inseperable. She went to every underground performance I did. Each and every one of them, without a single complaint. Then I got discovered, and I made the toughest decision of my life. I knew in my heart that she could probably have dealt with all the gossip and rumors if and when I got big, but I wasn’t prepared to feed her to the lions. So I sacrificed the one thing that I didn’t realize meant everything to me, and here I am now. One of Korea’s top stars, and perhaps the loneliest man on the face of this planet.”

A sympathetic look crossed the two younger men’s faces. Both of them knew what it was like to have to make great sacrifices for their careers, and the heartache sustained from those sacrifices motivated them to, and inhibited them from, moving forward in their careers. Not a day went by where they didn’t question their own motives for becoming famous. What was the point of fame and fortune if you had no-one to share it with? Why were they still striving to reach a goal that meant nothing to them? So many questions, and yet, there were no answers to the questions that plagued them daily. There was no reason for them to keep moving forward, and yet they did, perhaps in the hopes someday, when they were finally at the top, their aching hearts would be assuaged in some way. They trudged forward perhaps in the hoping that one day they would be forgiven for sacrificing their loved ones in the name of fame and fortune. But was it really sacrificing if all you wanted to do was protect that person from being hurt? What use is being famous if means you have to enjoy the fame and fortune without the one you love? And at that point, is the fame and fortune even worth it anymore?

“But hyung, who was it?” It wasn’t that they didn’t already have ideas of who the mystery woman in Choi Seunghyun’s past was, but Jiyong and Youngbae needed their suspicions to be confirmed.

“Is it really that hard to figure out? I talk to Kim Yoobin almost every day.” Of course it was her. Who else would it be?

At that moment, Jiyong glances over at the maknae who is still dancing around like a hyper little boy on Christmas morning, and a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Whether or not he knew it, Seungri was the light in Jiyong’s life, and Jiyong wouldn’t trade that for anything in the world. Because deep down Kwon Jiyong knew that he would never love anyone the way he loved Lee Seunghyun. He would never meet a person who could light up his life the way Seungri did. No-one would ever be able to match Lee Seunghyun’s energy or flawless beauty, for in the eyes of Kwon Jiyong there is only Lee Seunghyun.

Jiyong smiles as Seungri runs over with a bright smile on his face, and jumps happily on the older boy’s back. “Hyung!!”

A soft chuckle escapes Jiyong’s lips as his hands slide beneath the crook of the younger boy’s knees, and he secures his maknae in place. “Oh, oae?”

Seungrri clings tightly to his favorite hyung, and Jiyong feels himself getting slightly hot and bothered when Seungri’s hot breath tickles his ear.
“Hyuungg!! Let’s do something for Christmas Hyung!!!”

The older boys laugh at the hyperactive young boy bouncing happily on the back of his favorite hyung, as the older boy fights off the color creeping onto his cheeks. “Sure, but not tonight maknae. Tonight, we’re going to go home and sleep. And then tomorrow we’ll have some fun. Arachi?”

“Okay hyung…” The younger boy nods sleepily, and nuzzles into the crook of the older boy’s shoulder, a yawn escaping his lips as he slowly drifts off to dreamland.

The mak hyung leans forward and gingerly pokes the sleeping boy’s cheek. “Yah! Maknae-yah!”

Instead of waking up, the sleeping boy just grumbles and nuzzles deeper into the older boy’s shoulder. The older boy simply chuckles and shakes his head. “Yah, hyung, keumanhaeyo. He’s been up for three days straight, just let him sleep. Honestly, I’m surprised he even managed to last so long. I was sure he would have collapsed already.”

The entire way home, the younger boy sleeps like a baby with his head pillowed in Jiyong’s lap. As the older boy runs his hand through Seungri’s dark hair, and massages his scalp, a contented sigh escapes Seungri’s his lips. It was times like these that Jiyong cherished the most, because it was these moments that allowed Jiyong to see the vulnerable side of Lee Seunghyun that otherwise lay hidden beneath several masks. As always, Jiyong lightly traced the contours of Seungri’s face with his fingers, and committed those breath-taking features to his memory, just in case a day came where he could no longer see his beautiful maknae.

Sometime during the ride, Jiyong had fallen asleep and his head now rested against the cold glass of the car window. This time, the mak hyung leans over and jabs one finger into Jiyong’s side and one into Seungri’s side, jolting the sleeping prince awake, and bringing the younger of the two boys back to relative consciousness. He looks down, and sees that his precious maknae is fading in and out of consciousness. “Seungri-yah, do you think you can walk?”

The younger boy yawns groggily, and rubs his eyes like a small child as he sits up. “Hyuunnggg... ilkkaeuneun geosu (carry me)…”

A smile pulls at the corners of Jiyong’s mouth as he eases the groggy boy onto his back, and walks leisurely into the house. By the time they make it to the dorm room, Seungri has drifted off again, and Jiyong gently deposits the sleeping boy onto the bed. Knowing he can’t just leave the boy in his uncomfortable performance clothes, trembling fingers reach out and fumble with the buttons. Slowly the shirt comes off, and the hidden chocolate is exposed. Jiyong can feel himself salivating at the sight, and the urge to have his way with the sleeping boy becomes almost unbearable. He can feel the heat rising to his cheeks, but ignores the pain in the crotch of his pants, as he slips the boys jeans off and replaces them with sweatpants. Jiyong can feel himself literally shaking with the desire to have his way with the boy spread out before him but all he can do is look, not touch. Which had never been a problem until this very moment. And it was at this very moment, as he gazed at Seungri’s exposed chocolate abs, that Jiyong felt himself drifting off to la-la land, fantasizing about the things he’d do to his maknae.

Little did he realize that his hands had a mind of their own, and were now tracing the contours of Seungri’s delicious chocolate abs. By the time he snapped out of his lust-induced-daze he found himself leaning over Seungri’s naked torso, tasting the chocolate laid out before him. He sat up abruptly and turned away from the one person whome he cherished more than anything in the world, mentally slapping himself for his careless actions. Suddenly, a soft chuckle drifted into his ears and Jiyong turned to face the younger boy, who was now staring at him with heavy-lidded eyes. “You know hyung, I was wondering when you’d finally snap.”
A shocked expression took over his beautiful face, as Jiyong stared at his maknae with a raised eyebrow. “How long have you been awake?”

Seungri simply chuckles and sits up a little bit, leaning sleepily against the pillow with one leg bent and the other stretched out in front of him. “Long enough.”

Jiyong doesn’t know how to respond, and finds himself fumbling for the right words. “Look, I-I’m sorry, I just…I-Mmph….mmmmm….”

Before he can even get the words out, Seungri grabs the older boy by the collar of his shirt, and cuts Jiyong off with his lips. A moan escapes the older boy’s lips, as Seungri massages his lips and tongue at a leisurely pace. Oxygen becomes a necessity and they break apart, foreheads touching and panting heavily, smiles on both their faces. “What was that for?”

Seungri smiles and kisses Jiyong. “Just because. Merry Christmas hyung.”

For the first time in a long time, Kwon Jiyong smiles genuinely. He feels on top of the world as he leans forward and captures the younger boy’s lips in a hungry kiss, and the clothes start to fall away. His hands explore Seungri’s body, and a tired groan issues from the younger boy’s mouth. He smiles into the kiss, and breaks away to quickly flip the younger boy onto his stomach. The lights go out, and all that can be heard are the quiet moans that escape from their lips as they consummate their love for each other.

The next day, birds are chirping merrily, and a soft light from the morning sun casts a delicate glow on the dozing couple. At the edge of their bed stands three boys who are busy taking pictures and whispering to themselves. It’s the first time they’ve seen their leader sleep with such a peaceful smile on his face, and now that his Christmas wish as been granted, they know it won’t be the last.
