Why is it that asian girls love white guys? And why do white guys love asian girls so much? Why is it not the other way around?(hardly anyway).

It's a mystery yet to be solved. Maybe UCLA should do this research, or has it been done already?

There are various reasons that Asian Girls like White guys and why Asian Guys can't get white girls. This is what I learned from the various classes I took:

Biology: Biological female humans want the most attractive mate who can take care of them. Since our brains are instinctively wired to our days of Hunter and Gatherers a female would look for a healthy male who can provide her with food and children. So that basically means an athletic tall man with a big penis. Asian males don't have either.
In Modern times that means a rich guy. Since alot of blacks/latinos are poor that takes them off. That leaves the white guy. He's strong enough to protect you physically and buy you a bunch of shit.
So for an Asian male to get a white chick he probably has to be tall and rich. From what I've seen, those are the asian guys getting white girls.

Sociology: Our society doesn't portray Asian Males as sexual beings. Basically all Hollywood movies present Asian Males as Nerds, Asian Gangstas, FOBs, Kung-Fu Master, or a Comic Relief. You never see an Asian Male hooking up, being romantic, or having sex. If an Asian male is portrayed sexually, usually it's negatively, like he's a pervert. This leads to the perception that Asian Males aren't sexual beings and if they are then they are perverts.
Asian females on the other-hand are considered exotic and sexual. The perception of Asian Females are that they are submissive and willing to do anything to please their male counter-part. Asians females are usually paired up with Caucasian males in Hollywood movies.

Psychologically: Asian females want white guys because they're different. Basically they view Asian guys as their brothers rather than their lovers because they never thought of them sexually.

Culturally: Basically what your friends already said. Asian guys were never taught to take the initiative. That's why they can't get girls. While in other cultures men are encouraged to make the first move.
