Greetings fellow LJers, I think it is about time I start updating my livejournal more often again. But for the most part, I think I've been getting a lot of LJ-writer's block. There IS a lot to say, but I don't feel like I can say things too conherently lately.
Right now, I am in this cabin lodge in the San Jacinto Mountains. This area is call the James' Reserve. I'm here with my class of 18 people in this course call Field Analysis in Biogeography. Quite a class of its own. Basically, my saturday night lives are almost nonexistent now, but hey, it's only going to be for the next 7 weeks. So go on weekend trips to all these awesome natural reserves in california, hike and study plant and animal biodiversity and learn how to conduct research. We're on a longer excursion this weekend: 4 days and three nights out here studying and having fun. This professor is pretty damn awesome too, we've all been drinking beer and wine throughout the whole day working on our research and presenting them. In three more weeks, we're heading out to the Santa Cruz Islands for a whole weekend.
Aside this kick ass class, life is treating me pretty a-okay lately. I am still in my NYC mood as of lately. God, that place totally blew my mind. I know it's just a city, but the experience was quite amazing. I seriously felt like I had major VIP treatment there(long explanatoin: basically a lot of free expensive dinners and excursions to some very upscale manhattan restaurants, sites and parties, all due to having some really kick ass friends over there). 9 days of outings, parties, and amazing adventures. The funny side of it was, my friend Jad and I received a random ticket in Harlem from NYPD. Of all places to receive your first ticket!
Aside all that, we also saw Gael Garcia and tons of models hanging around Manhattan. Where else should I continue? The Empire State Building was utterly breathtaking. I am telling you, this isn't something you want to miss at all. We got there around twilight, and that's seriously the best part of it because you get to see it partly during the day, and when the night comes, lights from the buildings and cars shine up, illuminating the city in such a breathtaking-scenic way. I. Iove. it. But too bad my camera ran out of battery when was there. Still, it was totally worth my 19 dollahs.
New York, will you marry me? I will forever be yours.
