I'm not trying to be mean, but I cannot understand why you would want to live in a big house by yourself. Why do you feel that you need to own a home right now? My thinking is, and I am truly not implying anything or attacking you, but down the line if you find that special someone, don't you want to share in the experience of getting a house? Why don't you consider buying a condo?

Living alone in a big house can be better than living ni a small house with your parents. Especially if they think it's time for you to move on.

And picking out a house with a partner isn't all it's cracked up to be. Trying to decide on paint finishes, tiles for the bathroom, carpet in the living room... it gets annoying.

Unless he can find a puppet to fall in love with him that'll kowtow and let him do whatever he pleases.

In other news, I tell you what I told you yesterday but with added flavor! I like the house. Cracked or chipped tiles are easily replaced, but you know that. The question is, can you see yourself living there? Enjoying spending time there? Can you see your self on the porch? In the yard?

The chipped tile is an easy fix, but because it has no basement, that is a sign of the foundation cracking. Now its probably no big deal cause if you look in any basement they are cracked from the house settling.

And honestly i can see myself out there. Driving around the area last night kinda sealed the deal i think. Its beautiful out there and its quiet but still within distance to anything. I liked the odd layout of the house, and the lot itself is nice and tucked away.

Oh don't worry, many people have brought up the same points, and i honestly don't blame them. All those are very good points, and i have thought a lot about buying a house since i've been looking for the past year or so. When i punted out of the last house i bid on, it put a lot of this in perspective, and i think i'm a lot more ready for this than i was.

I did think about a condo/townhouse but there are a few things that are big negatives for them. One is the worth of it. For what i can get a nice condo for i can get a much better house. And the other is resale. i see a lot of condos that sit on the market forever to sell, and i would hate to deal with something like that down the line.

I think having a house myself would be a good thing. When/If i do find that special someone then i could always sell this house to go into another one. This house is in a nice enough location that resale won't be a problem in the future.
