Ouch, working on foaming up my project today , cutting and nipping here and there, with a box cutter, and sure enough had to cut thruogh a seam I made with a glue gun, sure enough slipped and lacerated my left ring finger right at the tip towards the fingernail, bad enough that I went to urgent care at PAMF and had it looked at.
I managed to skive away from stitches (cut was about half a centimeter long, but quite deep, well, deep enough that it could have gone 50-50 whether I went to the doctor), only because I mentioned that getting poked and prodded usually causes me to pass out. Doctor said "That's not good, I certainly don't want anything happening here that's worse than what you came in with." So instead they put durabond or duraflesh onto my cut, glueing it and sealing the wound. Will be good in a week or so. But I can't use it that often, and should watch out for any telltale signs. 'Course, after I got bck, wanted to make pancakes, and poked the gauze a bit. OUCH.... Overall, quick trip to urgent care, reported in, name was called only about 2 minutes after I went to get a seat (stopping abruptly as some children got underfoot). Was only in there for about an hour total.
Unfortunately, trying to keep from using it has resulted in bumping it at very weird times, and getting what feels like a powerful static electrical shock of nerve-pain go through, yeouch.
So I'll just keep an eye on it and make sure nothing untoward happens.
Regardless, as Michael always says, "It's not a Project unless you bleed on it."
That being said, I somehow amazingly made it from the couch/coffee table to the downstairs bathroom without dripping blood every/anywhere. pretty much kept it contained to the sink.
Much thanks also goes out to Brannon who's a pal of a roommie, who's been staying with us while he's on leave. He drove me over to PAMF.
