smart fail
So i fixed (prolonged the life of) this hard drive with a smart fail error. I partitioned around the bad sectors. Bates was nice enough to let me try to fix a 250 gig that the smart had also failed on. This one is much worse. The bad sectors are in random places and the boot sector is bad it took my computer 19 hours just to wipe the drive too zeros. I have one program that will give me a readout of the bad sectors how ever it only shows 4 at a time and save a log but you cannot view it. I'm going to tr the newest version of western Digital s drive tool to see if that will work.
