For those who don't, I'm an Introvert, Intuition, Thinking and Judgemental person. I got the results from the Myers-Brigg test I took for my Career Exploration class.
The class has really gotten me thinking about what I want to do when I get done with college. But then that is part of the point of the class. I have to do 20 hours of job shadowing to get the credit I need from the class. It isn't all that bad because I am doing it for my own good. Yesterday I shadowed at a Veterinary Clinic not to far from campus. They had 4 patients come in and one surgery to perform while I was there. The 4 patients were all cats and the one having the surgery was a dog. The dog was a 7 month old male Chocolate Lab named Buster who was being neutered. They let me watch them perform the surgery. The surgery was interesting but not something I necessarily want to do every day.
One other patient I watched them work on was a male white manx mix cat named Dean. For some reason his left paw was not healing from the de-claw procedure a month or two earlier. Turns out that there something between the pad and where they took out the claw that was irritating it. So they numbed the paw and cut it out. The cat was very calm and let them work. It was kind of funny when I saw what they had him in. They put him in a bag with about 4 zippers on it so he wouldn't squirm around too much while they looked at his paw. When I first saw it and the peculiar expression the cat had I thought "first time the bag got you eh." Then when they finally let him out, I thought "time to let the cat out of the bag!" Corny I know, but I couldn't help it.
The other animals they had at the office were a hyper female pit bull named Rosie who does not have the use of her back legs. She does get around though because she has a "wheelchair". But because I was new she followed me around and then decided that I was her personal chew toy. The bite marks I got were not deep nor did they puncture, but I felt a bit gnawed on. Then there were 2 male cats, Samuel and Jake. I held them down while the vet tech cleaned their ears because they have mites in them. And then there was a beautiful St. Bernard dog who belongs to the vet tech I helped with the cats. I don't remember his name though.
But anyway, I should get back to work.
