The night of mechanical errors

Feb 02, 2006 07:32

So my day was interesting, and when you really thing about it kind of comical. Lots of mechanical things didn't want to work today.

First off, I was almost late for work because the but I tried to take broke down. So I ended up catching a late running 2:45pm bus. Not the way I wanted to start out my day.

The IT department at Hamline finally gave us back our now rebuilt computer tower (it crashed on us and not even the company we bought it from could figure out what went wrong with it). However, it kept not wanting to run the program the office uses to keep track of everything.

My trainee got stuck in the elevator in Drew Science. It took him up, then dropped him down and when it finally took him to the floor he wanted, it wouldn't let him out. When it finally did, the car stayed on the floor, opened both the rear and front doors and refused to budge.

Next the cart started to die on me while I was driving it around giving escorts and such to people. I ended up plugging it in when I went back to eat.

Finally, my radio died on me with 30 minutes left in my shift. I was not happy about it because they were trying to get a hold of me to pick someone up for work.

So there was my day of mechanical failure.

In other news, I went and spent a lot of money of myself. Why? Because I bought a 30Gig iPod. The best part is that they gave me the educator's discount because I work at Hamline. So I got to pay at total of $60 less for it! Sweet.
