Busy weekend, but a good one.

Headed over to catch up with fionnaghal early-ish on Saturday morning, and will a bag packed with food and drinks, we headed up to the flat marshes that are Lincolnshire, for off we were going to celebrate with jenfer_k her marriage.

We kinda expected the travelling to be dire, and had discussed during the first 20 miles of the journey options in case the roads looked too bad, but as it was we were able to cruise quite happily along at 70 for pretty much the entire journey. Seems that people might have been put off from driving by the weather reports, cos there was no congested roads anywhere!

And so we arrived at the venue a mere 100 minutes early! Ooops! Ah well, better early than late eh? So a quick phone call later and we were off to try and find sorcha, robharper and Bethan who were just a few miles away … where the griff curse struck again. Every time I`ve held bethan she's cried, which is odd considering how much of a happy child she usually is - was getting paranoid that she really didn’t like me :-(

But we headed back over the venue and met up with custard_mite, Sam and Gwenllian … first time of meeting Gwen since she was just a bump! And she is absolutely adorable! All smiles and general happiness, and had no problems with being passed around for people to hold and huggle. She in particular liked veeski who was also there with Lee.

The marriage of Mike and Jenfer_K was lovely … though the woman from the centre was a bit officious about how and when things were to be going through, but even the bit of rain that fell wasn’t a dampener on spirits, and it looked from the tables that everyone who had said they were coming, managed to make it too, so a full complement :-)

Sorcha read the poem "Yes I'll marry you" by Pam Ayres - very funny and really well read! There was a general butterfly theme to the wedding, and I almost wet myself when I found out that veeski, lee, fionnaghal and 1 were on the table named after the "painted lady" Butterfly!

All in all it was a really nice day, had a chance to catch up with lots of people, and even had a huge chunk of time sat with bethan where she stayed happy and didn’t grissel at all! She doesn’t hate me! Rob did point out that each time before had been when she was either hungry or tired or both, which may have accounted for the grissel.

Jenfer looked fabulous, and Mike looked cute too with a collarless shirt and a big grin! And not that much like Harry Potter this time, as opposed to when we all met at Sorcha and Rob's wedding.

The drive home was uneventful with roads almost empty and not too much rain. Fionnaghal nodded off so played some of my music to keep me company.

All going well, most of the old crowd will be meeting up again in a months time at Bethan's party - cant wait!
